HARVEST INFORMATION
The Crain Walnut Shelling, Inc.'s main facility is located at 10695 Decker Avenue, Los Molinos, CA. We will begin operation with the first harvest after September 1 and close December 1 or shortly thereafter depending on the weather conditions.
The receiving office can be reached by contacting LaMona Brownen, our receiving director, at the main office (530) 529-1585, ext #29, from 7:00am to 4:00pm weekdays and weekends during the peak of harvest by appointment.
In San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties, your field representative in that area will handle the logistics for you. In the Visalia/Hanford area, both partial & full load shipments will be arranged by Jeff Rachal, the local field representative. Again this year, Tri-Counties Walnut Co., located at 10493 13th Ave., Hanford, CA., will be lending support to consolidate less than load shipments.

KEEPING THE QUALITY IN YOUR WALNUT DELIVERIES
All walnut deliveries should be cleaned, washed, hulled and dried prior to being delivered to receiving stations.
Dehydrators should have a target moisture level for in-shell delivery to receiving stations that does not exceed 8% moisture. This moisture threshold allows for walnuts to be stored without degradation in storage. |
